TGI Fridays

Ok I know I am a little behind the times but earlier this month I finally went to TGI Fridays for the first time.

They opened a restaurant where I live about a year and a half ago but after hearing bad reviews I decided to give it a miss.

However, the bright lights kept calling to me and I finally decided it was time to give it a go as a birthday treat.

I had checked their website beforehand.  Their prices are slightly more expensive than the average restaurant.

I opted for the Cheeseburger Deluxe for £10.99 but as you can see there isn't much to it.  I find I normally struggle to eat all the chips that you get with most meals.  But as you can see that wasn't the case here.  I also wasn't too keen on the flavour of the cheese they used.

My husband ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork Burger for £13.49.
(Please ignore the rib that is on top of the chips!!)

The rest of family opted for the half rack of Jack Daniels' doubled glazed ribs, £13.49.  The sauce was quite sickly, not at all what I expected.

I had signed up to their emails and for my birthday they had sent me a voucher for up to 6 free desserts with every adult main meal purchased.  How could I refuse an offer like that?

I ordered the Chocolate Fudge Fixation.  The description on the menu states: "Three layers of moist chocolate cake with rich chocolate & fudge filling, served warm with vanilla flavor ice cream."

So I wasn't impressed with all the caramel that came with it.  For me it made the cake really sickly and ruined what would have been a perfect dessert.

This is the Brownie Obsession.  I am not sure what is with TGI's caramel 'obsession'?  I am not a big fan of caramel and would rather just have a chocolate dessert.  The brownie was heavenly but you can have too much of a good thing.

Overall, the atmosphere was fun and friendly.  I went with family on a Thursday night so there were mostly couples and people who were having an after work meal.  It was relatively quiet when we arrived at 6pm but by about 7.30pm the restaurant had started to fill up.

We had 2 courses but for a party of 6 it took an hour for each course to come out and a further 30 minutes to get the bill so the service was rather slow.

If you are celebrating a birthday there they do give you a free cake and sing to you whilst they make you wear a balloon hat!
Personally, I prefer other  American restaurants where you can get great tasting burgers for less price, better service and that doesn't leave me going home hungry.

Handbags I Want

I am loving satchels and duffle bags at the moment, especially the pastel blue ones.  I already have a couple of similar bags but I am a handbag person and you can never have enough bags!

I know duffles and satchels have been around for a few years now but I like the simplicity, textures and subtle detailing of these.

I have also included links below in case you are interested in any of these.

Dorothy Perkins Spring 2015 - My Picks

I am loving Dorothy Perkins' new Spring 2015 range.  I have always been a fan because they are so versatile and constantly have new items in store/online.  They have great basic pieces and more fashionable items which all look great.  I'm quite a simple, classic and most importantly, comfortable dresser.  I don't like frills or fussy clothes but at the same time I still like to look good.

I have picked out some tops that I have currently got my eye on.  They have subtle details that I love like lace edging or stripes with a difference.  Take a look...

Boots Christmas Sale Haul

There is nothing I like better than the Boots sale on Boxing Day. Everything in their sales is half price making the following purchases absolute bargains!

For £4 (or £1 each) these are fun and fruity.

I thought this handwash set would look really stylish in my kitchen or bathroom for when guests come round.

For £2.50 you really cannot go wrong with Boots' Royal Jelly set.

Again for £3 these 6 body lotions and body washes are perfect for travelling.

I think every girl growing up would have tried at least one Charlie product.  You get 4 small versions for £2.50.

I absolutely love the packaging and the box itself is a great keepsake. They would look great in any house and will impress guests who are happening to snoop through your things!

Most girls I know love Soap and Glory and for half price these sets are a bargain!  I love the fun, bright packaging.

One thing's for sure, I am going to be one super clean girl!  I don't know if its just me but when I see products like the above I get excited about using them and it makes something as mundane and boring as having a shower a little more fun!

The Body Shop Candy Kisses

I got a little carried away with The Body Shop recently and have brought some more lip balms from their website.

This is Candy Kisses and you get 5 original size lip butters for £15.
Or if you use a voucher code like I did, you can get them for less (£9 in my case!)

They come in the following flavours:

Coconut Lip Butter 10ml
Shea Lip Butter 10ml
Mango Lip Butter 10ml
Strawberry Lip Butter 10ml
Honeymania Lip Balm 10ml

These are both nourishing and hydrating and they make fab presents or you can treat yourself just like I have.

You can never have too many lip balms!

Jelly Belly Lip Balm Gift Set

I came across this Jelly Belly lip balm gift set in my local Tesco Extra whilst doing my weekly food shop.

I've seen these in other stores but it was half price at £4.50 so I thought why not?

I do love eating jelly beans and thought the flavours would be interesting to try.

Flavours include:

Tutti-Fruitti
Very Cherry
Blueberry
Strawberry Jam
Bubble Gum
Green Apple

I like that they come in a bean shaped collectors tin.

I cannot wait to try them and hope they are as good as they look!

The Body Shop Christmas Gifts

I must admit that I've never really been a fan of The Body Shop.  I haven't shopped there for over 10 years but after watching a couple of vlogs on YouTube I thought I would check out their Christmas range.  I was not disappointed.

This is the Jolly Lippy Lolly and contains 5 juicy lip balms:

Born Lippy Strawberry Pot Lip Balm 10ml
Born Lippy Raspberry Pot Lip Balm 10ml
Born Lippy Satsuma Shimmer Pot Lip Balm 10ml
Born Lippy Watermelon Pot Lip Balm 10ml
Born Lippy Passionberry Pot Lip Balm 10ml

They are full sized pots and you get 5 for £10 which is a bargain!

This is the Frosted Cranberry Tubes of Treasures £15.

It contains:

Frosted Cranberry Shower Gel 250ml
Frosted Cranberry Body Butter 50ml
Frosted Cranberry Body Polish 75ml
Red Mini Crinkle Bath Lily

It smells absolutely delicious!  It makes me want to try out more products from their range.

And what is also good about this is it comes in a festive red and silver striped tin which can be used all year round.

I will definitely be shopping in The Body Shop from now on and I like that they have a lot of special offers on making their products even more affordable.
